Our Proudest Work
dmd heroes
Raising money for DMD research & treatment
In the summer of 2015, a group of big-hearted friends from Manchester took it upon themselves to raise some money for Duchenne Now and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research.
Our five heroes donned their superhero costumes and travelled across the U.K, completing challenges for donations and raising awareness of DMD.
TashTail had the pleasure (before we were even founded!) to travel with the group for the entire journey, documenting the trials and tribulations. We even participated in a challenge or two.
Travelling through England, Scotland and Wales, in rain and sunshine, DMD Heroes managed to raise over £12,000 for Duchenne Now.
An extremely humbling and rewarding experience, and one that will always be close to our hearts, this is truly the most rewarding type of project that we do.
ac wollaton
Charity Football Team
AC Wollaton are a charity football team who hold matches and tournaments to raise money for worthy causes, mostly for children's charities.
Originally formed by the main man, Roberto, they have grown to incorporate hundreds of members and participants over the years.
TashTail had the pleasure of working with them on a promotional video aimed at spreading the word of their work, and hopefully to increase donations for the various causes they champion.
mossley film school
In the summer of 2021 we had the great pleasure of running a summer film school for the young people of Mossley, Hattersley and Hyde.
Over the course of four weeks, we created and ran a program of learning to teach the basics of filmmaking, acting and equipment operation. We then split them into two groups and tasked them with making a short film. The short films were screened at Media City for an audience of their parents and relatives.
The project was great fun and many of the participants commented on how much they'd learned and how much fun they had.
blank spaces
A project commissioned by the excellent Families Outside organisation, who help families when a loved one is incarcerated. They wanted a short film to show the difficulties in breaking the news to a teenager, so TashTail wrote, produced and directed the short film Blank Spaces.
The film tells the story of a teenager whose father has been sent to prison for sexual abuse, and the whole estate is talking about it. He struggles to come to terms with the news and his mother struggles to make the situation better for him. Eventually she enlists the help of a therapist who helps them both communicate and begin to heal.
not just a thought
Whilst we were studying our undergrad degrees at University of Salford, we were lucky to have the opportunity to work on a short film project in collaboration with NHS England.
The project was aimed at informing young people about the dangers of sharing explicit photo and video of themselves online or with others. Not Just a Thought was the short film we made as support media for this initiative.
